Holiday Homes In France
Villa with pool in the Var on the Provence Côte d'Azur
Sainte-Maxime overlooking the Mediterranean, near Saint-Tropez
5 bedrooms, 1 with an en suite bathroom, plus 2 shower rooms. Sleeps up to 10 people.
The villa is privately situated in a quiet residential area overlooking the Mediterranean in the Gulf of Sainte-Maxime, 3 km from the centre of town and the beaches. Sainte-Maxime has an excellent golf course, tennis courts and lively evening entertainment for all ages. It also has many good restaurants and a fine reputation for its food. Nice and the airport is an hour’s drive from here.
Saint-Tropez, apart from its fine shops and restaurants, has always attracted artists because of the quality of the light and many of their works of art are now housed in the Museum of Modern Art. The town is surrounded by huge beaches with excellent water sports facilities, from sailing, windsurfing and jet-skiing, to scuba diving.
The ground floor of the house has a fully equipped kitchen and living room, two twin bedrooms, a shower room and toilet and a laundry room with a second toilet. There is a large terrace with garden furniture and a summer kitchen.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with an en suite bathroom (both bath and shower), which has a balcony. There are two other rooms, each with twin beds and a shower room with toilet. Two cots are available, if needed.
The property is entirely fenced with an automatically opening gate and the garage can easily accommodate three cars. The pool and garden are tended by the gardener.
Sainte Maxime has two golf courses within a few minutes of the villa and there are water sports facilities both here and at Isaambres and at Port Grimaud.
Saint Tropez has a stylish, relaxed atmosphere and has long been favoured as an all year round place to visit. There are numerous smart shops, restaurants and art galleries and in the early morning, while it is still quiet, it still seems like the unspoilt fishing village it once was.
Perched in the hills behind Saint Tropez is the old village of Grimaud, peaceful and unchanged with lovely arcaded houses and a pretty Romanesque church. Further along the coast is Le Lavendou, a charming little fishing port with a marina, named after the lavender fields cultivated along the river.
All through the year, huge festivals are held in different places on the coast; the Nice Carnival in February, The Film Festival in Cannes, the Ramatuelle Festival in August, the Saint Tropez Regatta for famous, classic, ocean racing sailing boats in October, and in December, the Saint Tropez Christmas Festival.
