There is a warm friendly welcome waiting at Les Pignons Chambres d'Hotes, in this peaceful area of the Pays d'Auge countryside in Calvados. The house is set in a large private garden, which you are very welcome to use and enjoy. The garden is surrounded by cider apple orchards with an ancient pressoir in the typical Normandy colombage style. We are between the villages of Le Pin, Moyaux and Cormeilles within 25 minutes of Deauville and Honfleur on the coast and an ideal base for a relaxing few days break in the countryside, yet within easy driving distance to the beach.
Moyaux is 5 km away and has a choice of boulangeries, restaurants, a bar, post office and pharmacy and, an ancient Norman church famous for its twisted spire. The small town of Cormeilles is 8 km away, offering a supermarket, petrol station, bank and a large choice of shops, restaurants and bars. Cormeilles has its own Distillerie producing the famous ciders, pommeau and calvados brandy of the region, all of which you can taste for yourself on a guided tour of the Distillerie and museum. Each Friday morning there is a traditional market selling a range of local produce.
We have a large, very comfortable Bed and Breakfast room with a double and two single beds, making it suitable for couples or families. It is decorated to a high standard with exposed beams and has its own private bathroom, which includes wc, washbasin and shower. Tea and coffee making facilities and a hairdryer are provided. The room has a wardrobe, chest of drawer and a dining table and chairs at which a generous breakfast can be served in private, or if you prefer, taken in the dining room or out on the terrace. The rooms are fully centrally heated.
There are sporting activities for all ages. We are 5 minutes drive away from an equestrian centre for riding and occasional carriage trips. St Julian Golf Course, 10 minutes drive away, has an 18-hole and 9-hole golf course with clubhouse, pro shop, restaurant and bar.
