Hotel-Restaurant Bed and Breakfast in Alsace
Itterswiller, between Colmar and Strasbourg, in the Bas-Rhin
Double, twin and family rooms with en suite bathrooms, television and mini-bar

The Hotel Arnold

This family run hotel bed and breakfast is in the little village of Itterswiller, tucked among the Riesling vineyards, about 30 minutes from both Strasbourg and Colmar. Traditional in style, it has a peaceful, old world ambience. The rooms are as comfortable and the welcome is as friendly, as the menus in the restaurant are generous. The bar restaurant is across from the hotel, there is private parking and next to the hotel, we have a small shop stuffed with goodies from pottery, preserves and chocolate to our own wine.

There are 25 rooms in total comprising double or twin rooms, some triple rooms and some family suites. Each room is individually decorated and has a bathroom with either bath or shower, television and telephone, a mini-bar, a hairdryer and Wi-fi Internet connection. Most of our rooms have balconies and lovely views over the vines.

Downstairs is a breakfast room and a quiet guest sitting room. The ‘Winstub’ restaurant and bar across the way was once an old wine cellar and still has the original wine press. Lunch and dinner menus range from a fixed menu at lunch to à la Carte in the evening. Dishes vary from homemade foie-gras, medallions of venison with cranberries to freshwater fish in a Riesling sauce and change with the seasons. Vegetarians and special diets are catered for on request.

The Area

The wine villages stretch from Marlenheim to Thann. The best way to really discover them is to get off the beaten track, walk, visit the vineyards, talk to the wine growers and taste the wine.

Colmar is an enchanting town, the center of which is as unspoiled as the country villages around it, full of richly decorated town houses and pedestrian streets around the Cathedral. Strasbourg, as the seat of the European parliament is as cosmopolitan as it is old and beautiful.
