Chambres d'Hôtes Bed & Breakfast Suite in a Villa with Pool
Cavalaire-sur-Mer, 17 kms from Saint-Tropez, Provence
2 bedrooms, sleeps 2/4 people.
l'Ormarine
The suite is part of a Provençal style villa situated in a quiet residential area just above the beach in Cavalaire-sur-Mer, 17 kms from Saint-Tropez, 40 kms from Saint-Raphaël and 60 kms from the airport at Toulon. This part of the Var region of Provence has a generally good climate, pleasant at any time of year with long hot summers and mild winters.
The suite is entirely independent from the rest of the villa to ensure privacy and faces directly onto the swimming pool, which is secured for the safety of young children. It comprises two twin bedrooms and a bathroom with twin washbasins and a shower, with a separate wc. There is a flat secreen satellite television and a corner kitchen outside under the arbour, equipped for up to four people with an oven and electric hot plates and a refrigerator, to make light snacks and keep cold drinks. The outside terrace has garden furniture and electric sun blinds.
The garden is full of Mediterranean flowers and orange, grapefruit and mandarin trees and there is a covered parking area secured by gates. The Area
The sandy beaches below us are only a short walk away and there is a wind surfing club and riding stables and tennis courts locally. Boats go from Cavalaire to the islands of Port-Cros, a wild life reserve, Levant and Porquerolles. Cavalaire itself has all necessary shops. Sainte-Maxime (20 kms) has an excellent golf course and lively evening entertainment. It also has many good restaurants and a fine reputation for its food. Take a detour from here into the hills to sample the local wine around Plan-de-la-Tour and La Garde-Freinet. Saint-Tropez (17 kms), apart from its fine shops and restaurants, has always attracted artists because of the quality of the light and many of their works of art are now housed in the Museum of Modern Art. The town is surrounded by huge beaches and is a short drive to the marina at Port-Grimaud, where the maze of canals can only be visited on foot or by boat. The Jardin Méditerranéen du Rayol (9 kms) is worth a visit and Le Lavandou, named after the lavender fields along the banks of the river Batailler, is a charming little fishing port. In the hills of the Massif des Maures inland from us, are the ancient ruins of the Chartreuse de la Verne, perched on a hillside surrounded by oak trees and with magnificent views. For those who prefer a breathtaking natural landscape, the Gorges du Verdon are about 100 kms away. Travel Information
