Two Comfortable Farmhouse Gîtes With Two Pools
On the borders of the Dordogne and Lot et Garonne

Au Compte

In the tiny hilltop hamlet of Au Compte, the nearest village is Loubès-Bernac, these two gîtes, part of a 17th century farmhouse, provide excellent accommodation for those looking for a relaxed holiday. With its views of open countryside, fields of sunflowers and vineyards, Au Compte benefits from being in a pastoral situation, whilst having easy access to the towns of Bergerac, Eymet and Duras, with their shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Bergerac is serviced by low-cost operators, Flybe and Ryanair, with flights from Southampton, Bristol and Birmingham, East Midlands, Liverpool and Stansted airports. Take advantage of the cheapest midweek flights and rent from Wednesday to Wednesday during Easter, May and September.

Each gîte has:
· Three bedrooms – 2 doubles and 1 twin all with wardrobes/chests of drawers
· A bathroom and a shower room
· A fully fitted kitchen with gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher
· A living/dining area – CD player
· A private garden area with barbeque, patio table and chairs.

The Cottage
The ground floor of the cottage has:
· A fully fitted kitchen
· A living room with log burning fireplace and dining area for 6 people

La Grange
The ground floor of the Grange has:
· An open plan living space of 40 m2 incorporating fully fitted kitchen, dining area seating up to 12 people and lounge

· A triple bedroom (double and single bed) with en-suite shower room/wc
· Double bedroom
· Twin bedroom
· Bathroom/wc

· Two swimming pools each approximately 8m x 4m with security alarms, set in 100m2 of terrace, walled on three sides · Children’s play turret with swing, trapeze and climbing rope
· Croquet lawn – set of 4 mallets, balls and rules
· Badminton net – rackets and shuttlecocks
· 2 acres of garden with mature trees and shrubs bordered by woodland and fields full of wildlife – worth bringing a pair of binoculars
· Bailey the dog – who will entertain you all week!
· Cycle track 100m from the property – bikes can be hired locally
· Marked rambling trail 100m from the property
· An end of holiday surprise event for the children (adults enjoy it too)
· Bed linen and bathroom towels supplied

The Area

In The Vicinity:

· local markets with a perfect mix of fruit and vegetables and regional produce including foie gras, wine and cheese

· Sunday ‘producers’ market at nearby village, Soumensac, where you can buy lunch from the stalls (e.g., magret de canard, spit-roasted guinea fowl and chicken, fruit and vegetable salads, chips and wine) and sit to eat it with the locals at trestle tables under the lime trees with a view that stretches for ever
· village fête – first Sunday in August – a thoroughly French affair with lots to eat and drink
· vide greniers – the French equivalent of car boot sales
· hot air ballooning
· fishing, lakes and rivers
· go karting

· canoeing on the rivers Dropt, Dordogne and Visere
· horse riding and carriage rides
· golf (at Château des Vigiers) and a new driving range at Bergerac

A deposit of 25% is requested on booking
with the remainder paid 8 weeks before arrival
A damage deposit of €200 per cottage is also requested
